This position would be out of our Adrian, Michigan office. This is a full-time position. The candidate will be working on a cutting-edge web-based human capital management (HCM) platform which integrates payroll, time and attendance, and human resource management.
You will become the primary, new client implementation specialist helping to onboard clients from in-house processing, or coming off of another Michigan outsourced payroll provider. You will also assist in the daily payroll tax-processing tasks.
Job Requirements
- The ideal candidate should have 2+ years of payroll and/or tax-processing experience. (Preferred but not required)
- Candidates must be able to work well in a team environment as well as work independently.
- Candidates will be responsible for various data entry projects.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail with an analytical, research-oriented mindset.
- Maturity in dealing with sensitive & confidential information.

Job Responsibilities
Michigan Payroll Implementations:
- Perform client setup for payroll and web-based time & labor management.
- Walk clients through the onboarding gathering documents.
- Perform frequent check-ins with clients on project status.
- Employee Information.
- Tax Information.
- Historical Payroll Information.
- Follow-up with clients to gather needed information.
- Perform initial payrolls with clients to ensure proper setup.
- Provide short-term customer service during implementation for the client until hand-off to their long-term Customer Service Representative (CSR).
Michigan Payroll Tax Processing Overview:
- Ensuring daily tax files are created and paid
- Ensuring quarterly/annual returns are filed and paid
- Daily tax account bank reconciliation
- Daily tax sign off
- Configuration questions specific to tax settings
- Investigating tax issues and notices
- Researching/resolving SSA notices
- Overseeing and troubleshooting quarterly recons for retail & wholesale
- Managing the completion of tax amendments each quarter
- Ordering Year End forms
- Overseeing the printing & shipping of W2s & 1099s
- Monitoring and updating the process of the distribution of the quarterly tax packets
- Staying apprised of changes to payroll & tax laws
- Termination of clients in regards to tax money
- Tax registrations for clients
- Prepare and distribute quarterly tax schedule and prep reports
- Rate exchanges with tax agencies
- Monitor tax email account
- Daily reconciling client’s funds
- Weekly registration of client tax ID's
