Classifying An Employee - Contractor or Employee?

Why would I want to pay someone as a 1099 vs. an Employee? 

This is a great question that we get all the time! It's not just about what you want to do, there are several things to take into consideration, including; 

  • Who's equipment are they using? 
  • Are you telling them when & where to be? 
  • Are you telling the how to do the job? 

Depending on the answers to these and other questions, you may be obligated to pay them one way or the other.
