Chilah Weller: Hello everyone and welcome back to our monthly Insight Beyond Payroll. I’m Chilah Weller and this is my business partner, Eric Jones.
Eric Jones: Hey, everyone.
Chilah Weller: Our last video was an introduction to our company, our values and our platform. Each month, we will give you an insight into a current or new payroll, time and attendance, or human resource legislation. We will also discuss how our platform can assist you in streamlining and staying compliant with the ever changing employment environment. Without further ado, this month’s Insight Beyond Payroll is the adoption of a the Michigan paid sick leave law that Eric will go into more detail on.
Eric Jones: In December, the previous Michigan governor, Rick Snyder signed into law a measure that will require employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave that can be used for sick and safe time purposes. The new law will require companies with 50 or more employees to give them up to 40 hours of paid sick leave per year. Employees can accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 35 hours worked. If your current policy is greater than this new requirement, then you may be okay and will not have to change your policy. I however do recommend that you contact an HR professional or attorney to ensure compliance.
Chilah Weller: Are you currently tracking paid time off on spreadsheets or another system separate from your payroll platform or HRIS platform? If so, you know all too well the frustration of a manual process. Why feel bogged down by the current employment law and regulations when you can partner with a company that offers a state-of-the-art platform and a wealth of knowledge. Let Workforce Payhub be your solution.
Chilah Weller: Our automated time and attendance platform can streamline your PTO and accrual policies by tracking accruals by hour, day, month or per payroll process. The platform can be used alone or integrated into our payroll and HRIS solutions. Employees can enjoy self-service by submitting time off requests and viewing their balances with ease. Managers can approve and track time via the platform versus scanning through spreadsheet after endless spreadsheet.
Eric Jones: If you are looking for a platform that will help streamline time, attendance, and accrual policies, partnering with us is like having a compliance officer in your back pocket. We not only provide the technology, but we provide service that feels relational versus transaction. Please contact us for our no-cost consultation and demo by emailing us at info@workforcepayhub.com. We look forward to working with you and being part of your business growth.
Chilah Weller: Thank you for tuning in to this month’s Insight Beyond Payroll. We’ll talk to you soon.
Eric Jones: See you.
Chilah Weller: I did way better than you.
